Pengaruh Pendidikan Kesehatan Berbasis Video Interaktif Terhadap Pengetahuan Tentang Bahaya Vape Pada Remaja Di SMA Negeri 1 Parung Tahun 2026

Background: Adolescence is a developmental stage that is highly susceptible to influences from the surrounding environment and social media. It is also a transitional period from childhood to adulthood characterized by physical, psychological, social, and emotional changes. During this stage, adolescents have a high level of curiosity and tend to explore new experiences. Consequently, they are vulnerable to engaging in risky behaviors, one of which is the use of electronic cigarettes (vapes). This risky behavior may be associated with inadequate knowledge regarding the harmful effects of vaping. Therefore, innovative and engaging educational methods, such as interactive video-based learning, are needed to improve adolescents' understanding of vape-related health risks.Research Purposive: This study aimed to identify the effect of interactive video-based health education on adolescents' knowledge regarding the dangers of electronic cigarette (vape) use among students at SMA Negeri 1 Parung. Methods:This study employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design using a pretest–posttest control group design. The intervention group received health education through interactive video media, while the control group did not receive the intervention. Data were analyzed using the Mann–Whitney test. Results: The Mann–Whitney test showed a p-value of 0.018 (p ≤ 0.05), with a mean rank of 77.41 for the intervention group and 61.59 for the control group. These findings indicate a statistically significant difference in knowledge improvement between the two groups after the intervention. Conclusion: Interactive video-based health education was more effective in improving adolescents' knowledge about the dangers of vaping compared with no educational intervention. Therefore, interactive video media can be considered an effective educational strategy to increase awareness and prevent electronic cigarette use among adolescents.
